  参考咨询部所设立的特藏室,负责研究整理馆藏中外文旧书,从中筛选出有收藏或参考价值

的图书精心收藏和进一步开发利用, 以丰富我馆藏,提高馆藏档次,为我院教学与科研及社会上

专家学者提供一些珍贵文献。该室目前正在积极筹建之中,现将已整理出的自19世纪40年代至

20世纪40年代这一百年中,在国内外出版的外国人编著的有关中国历史、政治、外交、语言、文

化、艺术等方面的英文图书104种的目录登录上网供读者先睹为快。这些书的作者都是近代来华的

外交官、记者、传教士和学者。他们在中国都有丰富的经历,在各自不同的领域对中国都有重要

的或一定的影响。 这些图书大都记述了他们在华亲身经历的一些历史事件及接触的一些历史人物

和他们真实的感触和看法,同时也记录下了一些历史文献。因此它们是研究中国近代历史、近代

中外文化交流及西方汉学研究的珍贵文献。
